Married… with Children was one of the most controversial and popular sitcoms of the late 1980s and 1990s, airing from 1987 to 1997. The show followed the Bundy family — Al, Peggy, Kelly, and Bud — and became known for its edgy humor and very different take on the traditional family sitcom. Over time, it became one of the longest-running live-action sitcoms in television history and turned its cast into major stars. But after the show ended, the cast members’ lives and careers went in very different directions, including major Hollywood success, television careers, and some very private lives away from the spotlight.

Where Are They Now

Ed O’Neill (Al Bundy)
After Married… with Children, Ed O’Neill went on to star in the hit sitcom Modern Family, where he played Jay Pritchett for 11 seasons. The role introduced him to a new generation of viewers and earned him multiple award nominations. He continues to act in television and film and remains one of the most recognizable sitcom actors of his era.

Katey Sagal (Peggy Bundy)
Katey Sagal went on to star in several major television series after Married… with Children, including 8 Simple Rules and Sons of Anarchy, where she played Gemma Teller and won a Golden Globe Award for the role. She has continued working steadily in television and voice acting, including Futurama, where she voices Leela.

Christina Applegate (Kelly Bundy)
Christina Applegate built a successful film and television career after the show, appearing in films such as Anchorman and starring in the sitcom Samantha Who?, which earned her an Emmy Award. More recently, she starred in the Netflix series Dead to Me. In recent years, she has also spoken publicly about her battle with multiple sclerosis.

David Faustino (Bud Bundy)
After the show ended, David Faustino continued acting in television and film and also worked in voice acting and radio. While he never had another role as large as Bud Bundy, he has remained active in the entertainment industry and frequently participates in interviews and reunion events related to the show.

Amanda Bearse (Marcy Rhoades / Marcy D’Arcy)
Amanda Bearse continued working in television after the show but focused more on directing and producing. She directed numerous television episodes for a variety of sitcoms and became a successful television director behind the camera.
